Program Information:

The LAX “Los Angeles Xtreme” All Star Program is back after a successful ninth season and looking for new athletes to join the “LAX Family” for the upcoming season.  The program has proved to be a force to be reckoned with over the past few seasons which has turned many heads in the industry.  Last year’s NCA Nationals debut in Dallas also set a new precedent for the program.  Thus, the 2016-2017 season is expected to be the best year yet and we are eager to expand our family.
Being a competitive cheerleader is challenging, athletic, fun and allows for the creation of lasting memories.  In choosing to be a part of our small gym family it means that you are looking to be a part of an organization that focuses on the athlete as a whole.  We do not take more than 50 athletes each year and our coaching staff is focused on providing our athletes with a competitive experience while also teaching them the importance of being respectful, hardworking and dedicated.  Our “LAX Family” philosophy is based on the concept that amazing individual athletes can only succeed on a team if they work together.  We honor academic success and encourage athletes to become leaders.  Most of our athletes also cheer for their schools or participate in other sports.  This has resulted in many of our alumni cheering at the college level including UCLA, USC, University of Nevada Las Vegas, University of Montana, University of Arizona, UC Berkley, Long Beach College, Santa Monica College and Cal State Northridge.
Athletes are coached by Program Director, Joana Trocan-Garrett and the added talents of full time tumbling coach, Ashley Williams, & WORLDS Competitor, Samiah Anzin.  Athletes also participate in fitness conditioning organized by former Lakers Girl, Lindsay Dahlin.  Additionally, assistant coaches Elvira Spadafora, Megan Sahnaz and Noah Shelton all of which are LAX Alumni, provide further coaching support.  All coaching staff is USASF & First Aid/CPR certified and have over 50 years of combined coaching experience.  All coaches also undergo federal background screening.
For the upcoming season, athletes will be divided into three teams (Levels 1, 2 and 3) depending on the age and skill level of athletes.  Each year the teams are created based on athletes’ skill levels rather than placement on already existing teams.  Our program philosophy is that in order to be successful, athletes need have mastered a certain skill set in order to be able to confidently execute it.  An optional Level 4.2 crossover team will be offered to members interested.  Teams will travel to a variety of competitions in the Southern California area in hopes of placing in their respective divisions.  Additionally, travel competitions to Las Vegas, Dallas, Florida and/or Hawaii will be discussed at the parent meeting.
